An Entanglement of Filmmaking knowledge & Experience

In 2007 Entanglement Productions was founded by Company Directors, Huw Bowen, a talented film director/producer with a diverse skill base in editing and visual effects and Chris Pinches, a veteran producer having over 20 short films under his belt, and also a talented cameraman, photographer and Director. With the collaboration of both their skills, Entanglement Productions is capable of making films to the highest professional standards whilst also having intensive knowledge of the latest multimedia, video, effects packages.

The Filmmakers

Director / Writer / Producer: Huw Bowen

Huw studied fine arts and multimedia at the University of Colorado at Denver, where he first picked up a mini-DV video camera and fell in love with making moving images. He also trained as a sound engineer and as a graphic designer, and had an album released under the name Sundog. After university, he worked as a multimedia producer for a wonderful but doomed dotcom; when that imploded, he decided to dedicate himself full time to film.

He took the Los Angeles Film School's one year intensive film-making course and graduated with honours. He later taught editing and visual effects at the school. In 2006, he returned to the UK to found Entanglement Productions with his long-time collaborator, Chris Pinches. He has directed more than ten short films and music videos, and has worked as crew or as an editor or VFX artist on dozens more.

Chris has had a lifetime passion for the cinema and a growing dissatisfaction with his career in IT led to a variety of film related evening classes and workshops on everything from “The Craft of Films and Television” to “Screenwriting For Beginners” throughout the 1990s. By the end of that decade he was fooling around with video cameras and as the new millennium dawned he started taking more formal training courses with a view to making films to professional standards.

Since 2002 Chris has been involved in the production of well over 20 short films, taking virtually every role within the crew at some point or other but increasingly focusing on cameraman and Director of Photography roles. As a Producer he has been working on getting a feature project off the ground for several years so “Schrödinger’s Girl” is the fulfillment of an ambition. However he does not intend to sit on his laurels and is already looking towards the production of his next feature project.
